Exposure is part of everyday life

Environmental exposures are connected with the places we live, the work we do, the food we eat and the air we breathe. Exposome Africa promotes research into these influences and their biological effects across the African life course.

Our areas of interest

Research interests include food contaminants and adulterants, mycotoxins, heavy metals, agrochemicals, plastics and plastic additives, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, air pollution, occupational exposures and climate-related health risks.

Making science accessible

We aim to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible information through infographics, short educational videos, public awareness campaigns, community outreach, media engagement and professional discussions.
